It's that time of the year again, you know the beginning of the year where everyone is so excited about all the things they are going to do that they didn't accomplish in the previous year. Firstly let me say Happy New Year, welcome to the year 2014! Every year I realize how older I am getting, not a good thought... Anyway that's not the point of this post. New Year Resolutions, I am pretty sure by now everyone has heard someone they know talk about them. Every beginning of the year people have that new found confidence and inspiration to turn their lives around and do something new, I applaud them. Not everyone can do that. Let's be honest here I am pretty sure more than half of the time new year resolutions are a bust. Sure in the first few weeks of January you are all excited, pumped up and ready to take on the world. But who are we kidding, after a while we kind of get tired, give up and go back to our normal lives. It happens every year and for a while I wondered why. That is until a friend of mine highlighted to me why we most of us fail to achieve these resolutions. We set unrealistic goals. Now I am not saying if your goal this year is to become an astronaut you won't achieve it, I am just saying it's thinking too far ahead. If you set simple achievable everyday goals like this week I am going to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water per day you won't be easily discouraged. Then from those simple goals you can set higher goals until you reach the ultimate one. I am not saying this method works but I think it makes sense, I am planning on trying it out myself. Let me know how it works out. So where I was I, yes 2014, a fresh new 365 pages meaning days book (that quote has been going around like a disease) but it is accurate. A new year is always a great way to start afresh and I wish all of you a great and prosperous 2014!
It's been a whole entire year and some months since I last wrote down my thoughts on here. I could lie and blame my busy life and university for my absence but I wouldn't be doing anyone justice. Truth is I got scared, I got scared of all the things going on around me that writing them down would have forced me to face them. Over the past year I have been through so much, both joy and pain, I have learnt so much, all of which I want to share 😊 Firstly, you never know how strong you are until you have to be. And this applies to everyone, YOU ARE STRONG ! It doesn't matter what you are going through, you will survive it. You just gotta have faith in yourself. Secondly we need to appreciate the people we have in our lives (friends and family). You never know when you are going to need them around you because nothing beats the support system comprised of your loved ones 💞 You know that popular Justin Bieber song, Love Yourself ? I know it has a different message to what ...
hmm...i have to try that method...bin stuck to the old unrealistic one for a very long time...thanks Lala
